With the holiday season in full swing, and purchasers flocking to local retail outlets and online, plastic tends to be the payment of choice in what is a very expensive, although enjoyable, time of year. With all of that gift buying and the breakfasts, brunches, lunches, coffees and dinners, one must wonder how it is all being financed. Ideally, savings, but realistically it’s going straight onto our credit cards, and our only thought process is that we will worry about it in the new year. Our goal is always to pay down our credit cards to pre-holiday levels but does that always happen? Do you have credit cards and wish them to go away along with their annoying minimum monthly fees that barely touch the principle? We all do!
One thing that we have to do as a society is to do away with plastic; it’s just bad news. No institution cares if you ever pay off your balance as long as you continue making minimum payments, In fact, they prefer that you maintain a high balance, so they make more money. And the biggest pushers of credit cards are the mainstream financial institutions (the banks and credit unions). All you have to do is see which product they have ‘pre-approved’ you for first, and you will see that it is credit cards. Ask them for an unsecured loan, and they will balk at the idea. This is because they will make much more money from you off a credit card than a low-interest loan.
AAR Financial provides personal loans to Winnipeggers that require immediate funds but don’t want to be paying it off for the rest of their life. Whether you need $500 or $5,000, we are there to assist you in any way we can. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at (204) 667-2200 or come visit us at 1590 St. Mary’s Road just past Meadowood Drive.
